The aim is for the building to give back to the environment, while fulfilling its operating and maintenance conditions. It has resulted in a cheerful building that serves as a meeting point and attracts people to use it.

The pump station is located by Gystadmarka school and kindergarten. The pump station is adjacent to the bike and walking trail that passes through the school’ s pristine recreational area and the moraine and pine terrain. To avoid a typical technical building, Norway's biggest bench concept was developed. The pump station contains two utility rooms, the aggregate room, and the pump room.
